North Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – North Syracuse Police say a man accidentally shot himself in the leg on Friday morning.

Police say a man on Belmore Drive was demonstrating how to fire a handgun for his wife when it discharged.

He was taken to Upstate University Hospital where he was treated.

Police say the man’s injury was not life threatening.

Three handguns that the man owns were secured by police, but they say he will not be charged at this time.
