Oneida County man convicted in murder trial

A Utica man was convicted on Tuesday of murdering a woman and dumping her body behind a Deerfield fire station in 2007.
Utica (WSYR-TV) – A Utica man was convicted on Tuesday of murdering a woman and dumping her body behind a Deerfield fire station in 2007.

A jury in Oneida County found Craig Ingersoll guilty of murder in the second degree and criminal sexual act.

He is scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 21.

People who were sledding nearby found the body of 29-year-old Jennifer Bennett behind the Deerfield Fire House Pavilion.

Ingersoll was arrested in March 2012 when investigators say his DNA matched crime scene evidence.
