Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Law enforcement continued their search for the 10-month-old boy in a different location Monday.

According to police, Levon Wameling was reported missing by his father Jevon Wameling, two weeks after the child was last seen on May 29 around 11:30 p.m. on the front porch of 748 Jay St.

Police, Forest Rangers and the FBI continued their search for the boy through a 30 acre densely wooded area in the Town of Marcy on Monday.

"We're going to search as long as we can until we find him,” Utica Police Sergeant Steve Hauck said.

Forest Rangers lead Monday’s search, helping 35 people involved in the search navigate the difficult terrain.

“The terrain is tough, a lot of trees, overgrowth, it’s not populated in any sort,” Sgt. Hauck described.

The wooded area is approximately five miles from Jevon Wameling’s home, where the baby was reportedly last seen.

Jevon Wameling has reportedly stopped talking to police.

Utica Police say information that developed during their investigation led them to the wooded area.

“We are getting information from people out there and we would encourage more people to reach out because we are certain that someone has information on this. A baby just doesn't disappear,” Sgt. Hauck said.

Police are still asking neighbors in Utica to check their property for anything suspicious.

“We've been working this case non-stop and we said even though we stopped searching that high probability area, we said all along if there is an area to search, based on the investigation, we're going to search it,” Sgt. Hauck said.

If you have any information about baby Levon's disappearance, call Utica Police at (315) 223-3510.
