Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office has identified a woman whose skull was found on Onondaga Nation land 15 years ago.

They say the skull belonged to Mary Ann Krepps, a New Jersey woman who was 47 years old when she died.

The Sheriff's Office says it has not determined a cause of death.

"We don't have a cause of death. It was ruled as a homicide but no other parts of the body have ever been recovered," said Onondaga County Sheriff Kevin Walsh.

Investigators suspect her former boyfriend, Thomas Card, who died in prison while serving time on a sex offense.

Authorities say Krepps' family took her remains back to her home state for a proper burial.
