Sisters attacked as they leave home on Syracuse's south side

One woman was hit in the head. The other was shot in the stomach.
SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV) - On Saturday Syracuse Police said two sisters, 24-year-old Tempest Brown and 25-year-old Amber Brown, were attacked as they left a house in the 600 block of Cannon Street.

It happened at about 4:10 a.m.

As the pair left the house to pick up some beer, two males confronted them.

One of the suspects then left the area.

The other hit Amber Brown in the head with a hand gun.  When he did that, the gun went off and Tempest Brown was shot in the stomach.

She was taken to Upstate University Hospital in serious but stable condition.

Amber Brown was also taken to the hospital with a minor laceration to her head.

The suspect who police said attacked the women is described as a light-skinned black male wearing dark clothing.
