Solvay (WSYR-TV) – Solvay Police officers rescued a woman from a burning home on Driscoll Avenue on Wednesday morning.

The woman was taken to Upstate University Hospital and one officer suffered an arm injury during the incident.

The home, which is across the street from the Solvay Police Station, sustained considerable damage.

Solvay fire officials believe the fire began in a back corner on the first floor.

Officials added that clutter in the home made it difficult to combat the fire.

They have not indicated what ignited the fire.
