Caughdenoy (WSYR-TV) – Emergency crews responded to the scene of an accident involving a motorcycle and a UPS truck in the town of Clay on Friday afternoon.

According to the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office, UPS truck driver Colleen Conklin, 50, of Canastota, was traveling west on Caughdenoy Road when she turned into the path of the eastbound motorcycle.

Deputies say Conklin was looking for an address to make a delivery, but when she turned towards the driveway she crossed into the path of the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist - 62-year-old Joseph Fowler of Fulton - was airlifted to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse with what the Sheriff's Office describes as a serious leg injury.

The motorcyclist was reportedly conscious and breathing after his bike hit the side of the truck. Deputies do not believe the man's injuries are life threatening.

Conklin was ticketed for failure to yield the right of way and is due in Clay Court in July.
