Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – The polls are closed across Central New York on an election day that had voters focusing mostly on local elections.

There were no Federal races this year, but there were several proposed amendments to the state constitution.

Notable Election Day results include:

Incumbent Syracuse Mayor Stephanie Miner wins after receiving more than 68 percent of votes.

In Syracuse, candidates for Councilors at Large Pam Hunter and Jean Kessner declared victory Tuesday night.

Syracuse Council:
  • Second District: Democrat Chad Ryan topped Republican Alex Walsh, and Working Family candidate Steven Thompson, earning nearly 60 percent of the votes.
  • Fourth District: Khalid Bey has edged out Green Party candidate Howie Hawkins with 59.55 percent of the vote.
  • Fifth District: Nader Maroun Jr. earned the council position over Norman Snyder with 75 percent of the votes.
Onondaga County Supervisors:
  • Cicero: Jessica Zembrano wins a close race
  • Geddes: Republican Manny Falcone wins after receiving 64 percent of votes
  • Manlius: Incumbent Edmond Theobald wins
  • Marcellus: In a surprise move, Mary Jo Paul unseats incumbent Daniel Ross after receiving 52 percent of votes
  • Salina: Mark Nicotra wins after receiving 68 percent of votes
