Geddes (WSYR-TV) – The 2014 State Fair Butter Sculpture was unveiled on Wednesday.

800 pounds of butter were used to create the sculpture, which is dedicated to raising awareness about milk being given to local food banks.

The sculpture took 10 days to create, according to the artists.

The sculpture is entitled "The Great American Milk Drive."

"The whole idea is trying to drive awareness of the need for milk donations for food banks and to help drive those donations," said Beth Meyer of the American Dairy Association and Dairy Council.

The butter sculpture has been a State Fair tradition since 1969.
