18-year-old dies in two-car crash in Schroeppel

FULTON, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - A two-car crash in the Town of Schroeppel has left one in critical condition and an 18-year-old dead.

According to state police, a Chevy Malibu operated by an 18-year-old was heading northbound on County Route 57, when they appeared to have lost control of the vehicle due to snowy roads.

The car crossed over to the southbound lane and was struck by a Buick operated by a 77-year-old man.

The front passenger in the Chevy, 18-year-old Morgan Stoutenger, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver was sent to SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse where he is listed in critical condition.

The driver of the Buick and their passenger were sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation into the crash is continuing.
