The victims were rushed to the hospital, where they died.

Le Moyne College has issued a statement regarding their student's death:

To the Le Moyne Campus Community,

It is with deep sadness that I write to tell you of the tragic death of Ismael Diaz-Marrero, a sophomore business student at the College. Ismael passed away last night following a shooting on the west side of Syracuse; his brother Daniel was also killed.

At this time of great loss, remember that there are many individuals on our campus who are available to help those who may need to speak with someone, including counselors from the Wellness Center for Health and Counseling, members of our Jesuit community and Campus Ministry, and those in Student Development.

Join me in praying for Ismael, Daniel and his entire family, along with all victims of violence. Today at 3:30 p.m. we will gather in the Grewen Auditorium for a service of remembrance and we will continue to keep the community posted as we learn more about how we can support the Diaz family at this time of unspeakable grief.

During these difficult times, the profound sense of community that is found within the Le Moyne family can be of great comfort as we join together to pray and mourn for both young men.
