5 Fulton suspects charged with hate crimes after alleged attack

FULTON, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - Fulton Police have arrested five suspects on charges including assault as a hate crime.

According to police the alleged attackers kicked, punched, and hurled racial slurs at their victim.

They allegedly struck the victim with a board as well during the attack.

Police say the men were on the victim's property, and when the victim asked them to leave, they refused and began assaulting him. 

Police arrested:

Angelo L. Colon Jr, age 21, of 111 W. Broadway Apt. 2, Fulton, NY
Jordan L. Alvarado, age 20, of 822 Oneida St Apt 1, Fulton, NY
Stephen M. Hagan, age 24, of 30 Best Dr, Fulton, NY
Joshua M. Carpenter, age 23, of 8 Airport Rd Bldg 8 Apt 2, Fulton, NY
A 16-year-old

They were charged with second-degree assault as a hate crime, second-degree menacing as a hate crime, and fourth-degree conspiracy – all felonies.

Alvarado, Hagan, Carpenter, and the 16-year-old were arraigned and taken to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $15,000 cash or $20,000 secure bond.

Colon is currently awaiting arraignment, according to Fulton Police.

Police are still investigating the incident.
