56-year-old Syracuse woman presented with $10M lottery check

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - A 56-year-old Syracuse woman who bought a winning ticket worth $10 million after she switched lottery games, because she liked the colors better on another one, was presented with her novelty check on Tuesday.

Tarea Teasley elected to accept a lump sum – which totals $6,718,000 after withholdings.

She was presented with the check at a Tops location on Nottingham Road in Syracuse, where she’d bought the ticket.

Teasley won after she took $50 she’d earned playing another game to play the $350,000,000 Cash Spectacular ticket.

Teasley is the 18th New York Lottery player to claim a prize totaling $1,000,000 or more in 2018.
