Arrest made in hit-and-run that killed a Syracuse 2-year-old

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - A Syracuse man wanted in connection with a hit-and-run that ended in the death of a 2-year-old girl has been located and arrested.

Police say 18-year-old Felix Santos was returned to Syracuse on July 11.

He was wanted in connection with the crash that killed Jameisha Stanford, and injured 26-year-old James Stanford and 1-year-old James Stanford Jr.

According to police, Santos was located in North Carolina with the help of the U.S. Marshals’ service.

He’s been charged with:

Second-degree manslaughter
- Leaving the scene of a fatal motor vehicle collision
- Reckless driving
- Multiple vehicle and traffic offenses

Syracuse Police began investigating the incident on May 27 when they responded to the scene of the crash on the 400 block of Shonnard Street.
