Sheriff's Office: 7 injured, 1 seriously, in Madison County crash

SULLIVAN, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - Police and emergency crews responded to the scene of a serious crash in the town of Sullivan on Friday morning.

The Madison County Sheriff's Office says seven people were injured - and one person suffered a serious injury - in the two vehicle crash.

Three children were also injured in the crash, but the Sheriff's Office does not believe their injuries are life threatening.

All seven were transported to Upstate University Hospital.

Lakeport Road was shut down near Fyler Road after the crash was reported around 11 a.m., but the Sheriff's Office does not believe it will be closed much later than 1 p.m.

They said an accident reconstruction crew would not be required.

According to the Sheriff's Office a van carrying three children and two adults crossed over the center line and glanced off a jeep carrying two adults.

The van rolled over, while the jeep came to rest on a guardrail, according to the Sheriff's Office.
