Attorney General: Scamming contractor back at it again

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - The New York State Attorney General’s Office is warning the public that a once-crooked contractor is back at his old ways.

Back in 2014, the AG’s Office got a court order to ban Jason Briere from returning to the home improvement business unless he posted a $25,000 bond.

At the time, he was doing businesses under his name, as well as companies known as Enriched Homes and Construction, and OnPointe Contracting.

Briere is accused of scamming homeowners out of more than $29,000.

New victims have come forward saying Briere is operating with a new name called "Under Construction,” but  the AG's Office says he is still performing shoddy work or not completing the work after receiving payments.

If Briere is found in contempt of the AG's court order, he could face permanent disbarment from the profession, penalties and prison time.
