Baldwinsville interim superintendent will now serve the in the position permanently

BALDWINSVILLE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - Matthew McDonald, who was named interim superintendent at the Baldwinsville School District, has been appointed to serve the position permanently.

McDonald was named interim superintendent in April of 2016, replacing Dr. David Hamilton, who parted with the school.

He officially started the role on Jan. 1.

The school issued the following statement:

It is with pride and enthusiasm that the Board of Education of the Baldwinsville central school district appoint Matthew J. Mmcdonald as the Superintendent of schools effective January 1, 2017.          

Mr. McDonald has been serving as the acting superintendent and has been employed since 2007 in administrative capacities. He has served as the deputy superintendent since 2013.
          
The Board of Education is confident that Mr. McDonald, in collaboration with our dedicated administrators and teachers, will ensure that all students continue to receive a high-quality education while striving to reach their full potential.

We are very excited about the experience, continuity, and vision that Mr. McDonald is bringing to this position and are confident that our entire community will support him.
