WSYR-TV - Emmy Award-winning actor Robert Guillaume has died at the age of 89 due to complications with prostate cancer, according to multiple reports.
Guillaume was best known for his role as butler Benson Du Bois in the 1977 series "Soap." The character got his own spinoff, "Benson," in 1979.
The show brought Guilluame an Emmy win in 1985 for lead actor in a comedy.
He is also known for voicing the character of Rafiki in Disney's "The Lion King." He won a Grammy for the voice recording.
Guillaume is survived by his second wife, son and three daughters.
