Cornell University: Fraternity recognition revoked after incidents of hazing

Ithaca (WSYR-TV) - A fraternity at Cornell University has lost its recognition after incidents of hazing.

The Vice President for University Relations Joel Malina says the school has revoked recognition of Chi Psi fraternity effective immediately. 

The fraternity was placed on probationary status last year, then had chapter operations paused this March. The school says the chapter facility will be closed at the end of this semester.

The chapter may appeal the decision within 48 hours.
