Couple seriously injured in Lysander motorcycle crash

TOWN OF LYSANDER, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an accident involving a motorcycle and pickup truck that left two people seriously injured.

According to deputies, a couple from Oswego County were travelling westbound on West Genesee Road on their Harley Davidson when a pickup truck exiting a driveway pulled out in front of them.

The operator had to brake suddenly and lost control of the motorcycle.

The operator and passenger suffered serious injuries and were thrown from the bike.

They were sent to Upstate. The operator is being treated for a hip injury and his passenger is being treated for a serious head injury.

The crash occurred around 5:14 p.m. in the town of Lysander.

Deputies say the motorcycle and pickup truck never made contact.

West Genesee Road between Dexter Parkway and I-690 was closed for several hours while deputies investigated.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
