SYRACUSE (WSYR-TV) - - Cool with rain showers Wednesday morning, becoming more scattered in the afternoon.
- Highs in the 60s through the start of the weekend.
- More showery Thursday and Friday.
- Staying unseasonably cool right into the weekend.
- Drying out and slowly moderating up over the weekend.
Cool and damp again today:
The cold front that slowly moved through CNY yesterday will continue to crawl to the east with a wave of low pressure riding up along it today. As a result we are starting off the day quite rainy and much cooler. Watch out for a little bit of fog as well.
The whole day is going to be generally unsettled. There will be breaks in the rain this afternoon, but the damp feeling to the air sticks around for a while. Highs will struggle to get out of the 60s Wednesday.
Staying somewhat unsettled for Thursday and Friday:
The wave of low pressure developing Wednesday along the cold front across Western New England will intensify more so Wednesday night into Thursday and send a cold front into CNY Thursday. This will likely produce scattered showers and an increasingly brisk wind out of the west on Thursday.
Scattered showers will likely be around for Friday thanks to a disturbance and a brisk northwest flow which will probably instigate some showers off Lake Ontario. It will be chilly as highs will probably struggle to make the low to mid 60s.
Weekend looks cool, but pretty nice:
Saturday will be mainly dry, but we cannot rule out a spotty pop-up shower or two to start the weekend, but all in all it appears much of the weekend will be dry with a sun clouds blend Saturday and a good deal of sun Sunday! Temperatures will remain well below average throughout the weekend, but should start to moderate come Sunday.
