Former SU great Walter Reyes dies at 36

STRUTHERS, OHIO (WSYR-TV) - Former Syracuse University football great Walter Reyes has dies at the age of 36, according to WFMJ-TV.

Reyes started as a redshirt running back as a freshman in 2001, winning four letters.

He is ranked second in rushing at SU with 3,424 yards.


Reyes is credited with 50 receptions and 550 receiving yards for the Orange in his four-year career. 

He became a free agent with the Tennessee Titans after graduating. 

Reyes grew up in Struthers, Ohio where he was named into the Hall of Fame at his old high school.

His cause of death is unknown. 

Reyes leaves behind a wife and four step-children.
