Woman wanted in gang assault case surrenders to Syracuse Police

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - A Syracuse woman wanted on charges stemming from an October gang assault has surrendered to police.

Syracuse Police say 22-year-old Jamieshia Jackson surrendered to police on Wednesday morning after her mother told her she was featured as NewsChannel 9’s Fugitive of the Week.

Investigators say Jackson was involved in an attack on the women after they left a party on South Salina Street on Oct. 10.

“When they got to the party, Ms. Jackson along with her associates, knocked the two girls to the ground, began to punch, kick. This occurred for what was described as approximately five minutes. Both of the victims, ended up in the hospital, with severe injuries,” said Sgt. Mike Smith with Syracuse Police.

A warrant was issued for Jackson’s arrest on Oct. 28.
