Fulton man accused of sexually abusing a child

OSWEGO, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - A Fulton man is facing felony charges in a sex abuse case involving a child.

The Oswego County Sheriff’s Office arrested 60-year-old John Collett III of State Route 3 on Friday shortly after 3 a.m.

They charged Collett with:
- First-degree sexual abuse, a felony
- Second-degree course of sexual conduct against a child, a felony
- Endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor

Investigators believe Collett abused the victim – who is under 13 years old – between fall and winter of 2016 through Feb. 4, 2018 at a home in the town of Palermo.

He was arraigned in Town of Palermo Court and taken to the Oswego County jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.

He is scheduled to return to court on March 5.
