FULTON, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - Fulton Police are dismissing rumors of a threat in the city’s school district on Thursday.
Parents have reported rumors of a student inside the school with a gun, but police say there was never an actual threat.
The district says it sent two emails – one to the high school community, and then a second to the district community as a whole – addressing the incident.
They also posted the information from Superintendent Brian Pulvino on the district website:
G. Ray Bodley High School administration was informed by a student at 8:15 a.m. this morning that another student at GRB made an alleged threatening statement about initiating harm to others at the school.
The District immediately initiated a response that included our School Resource Officer, administrative and teaching personnel, and support staff.
A thorough search of the building was conducted and the student who made the alleged threat was immediately brought to the office and remained with administration and the School Resource Officer.
The preview of the GRB School musical that had previously been scheduled for elementary and junior high school students in the District has been cancelled.
All students remained safe and under supervision during the District’s response to this matter.
