TOWN OF CLAY, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - The Great Northern Mall in the Town of Clay has been sold.
Mike Kohan, owner of Kohan Retail Investment Group, confirms that he purchased the mall effective Thursday.
Kohan says he wants to re-tennant the mall and wants to reach out to the community to attract more vendors.
"We're going to work on every single aspect. We're going to work on local, national, and anchors," said Kohan.
The new owner tells NewsChannel 9 he already has tenants lined up to come to the mall. He wouldn't say who they are, but did say he's in talks with some of the previous tenants.
Viewers have called NewsChannel 9 to say that security at the mall was being let go. Kohan says that his company will run the mall by itself and will provide the security.
Kohan says the Great Northern Mall is a great location with a lot of traffic.
This is a developing story. NewsChannel 9 and LocalSYR.com will have updates as they become available.
