The Mahogany Grill is trying to become one of the first restaurants in the region to cook with all local products.
"We've met with roughly 40 farmers, up to 30 wineries, a couple pastry shops," said Mahogany Grill General Manager Donaciano Quintin Jr.
The Mahogany Grill says it’s currently buying from 17 local producers and as the seasons change, so do the items on its menu.
“There are a lot of mom and pop farms trying to get product out there. Our doors are always open to anyone willing to come in and talk about the product and we're always willing to help market some of these local farmers," Quintin said. “The area has such amazing product and it’s kind of untouched. Our goal is to set a precedence to encourage other restaurants to engage in the local economy."
