Ithaca Police looking for suspect in armed bank robbery

ITHACA, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - Ithaca Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a man who held up a bank on Taughannock Boulevard Tuesday morning.

Police responded to the Tompkins Employees Federal Credit Union around 8:32 Tuesday morning.

Witnesses told them that the suspect entered the bank and pointed a gun at several employees before ordering a teller to hand over money.

After the teller gave him the cash, the suspect ran away from the scene.

The suspect was descried as a dark skinned black male, who is 5-foot-10 with a medium build.

During the robbery, he was reportedly wearing a white t-shirt and dark pants, along with a mask covering his face.
