Kangaroo leads handlers on chase near Trumansburg Fair

TRUMANSBURG, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - A kangaroo named “Rocky” gave his handlers an adventure on Monday at the Trumansburg Fair when his lead rope broke and they had to chase him.

According to Eudora Farms owner Mark Nesbit, the handlers were giving Rocky a chance to stretch his legs and eat when he broke away.

He noted that they quickly caught Rocky before he could get very far.

A woman who was driving by the fair – Life's So Sweet Chocolate owner Darlynne Overbaugh – told the Ithaca Voice that she was able to snap a picture of the kangaroo on Route 96 before his handlers caught up with him.

How crazy was my #solareclipse day? I almost hit a #kangaroo that escaped from the fair as it set up. Top that #instagram
