Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - Officers patrolling the streets of Syracuse spotted a large crowd just before shots were fired overnight Sunday, setting off panic.

As the crowd began to run, more shots were fired near the 700 block of Oswego Street. Police heard the shots around 12:40 a.m.

The size of the gathering made it difficult to pinpoint who was firing the shots. But, police did find a victim.

20-year old Tyshawn Keene, of Syracuse, was taken to the hospital and treated for a gunshot wound on his ankle.

With no information on the suspect, police are hoping for tips at 442-5222.
