License revoked for driver in crash that killed 3-year-old Regan Shetsky

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - The license of a Syracuse woman who was behind the wheel in a crash that killed 3-year-old Regan Shetsky has been revoked.

The Department of Motor Vehicles says Zung Tun failed to exercise due care to avoid striking a pedestrian and that she did not provide a sufficient description as to how the accident occurred.

The Onondaga County District Attorney’s office was unable to charge Tun with a crime after the crash, which occurred in a nursery school parking lot in Eastwood in January.

The DMV says her license will only be reinstated after she completes the proper paperwork.

Regan’s family issued a statement after the DMV’s ruling:

“Nothing will ever bring Regan back or make it right, but at least there’s some form of justice in her death.”
