Lights on the Lake kicks off on Nov. 15

LIVERPOOL, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - There may not be snow on the ground yet, but Onondaga County is already thinking about the holiday season.

The 28th season of Lights on the Lake at Onondaga Lake Park kicks off on Nov. 15.

New this year are a penguin scene, a star arch, a rocking horse, and a massive poinsettia display.

This year, the popular pedestrian-only walk-through will take place on Monday, Nov. 13 and the Lights on the Lake Dog Walk will take place the following day. Both walks go from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Also this year, any veteran, both active and retired, can drive through on opening night for free-- just show a military ID at the ticket booth.

The drive-through portion of Lights on the Lake runs until Jan. 7, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. nightly.

Tickets are $10 per vehicle Monday-Thursday and $15 per car from Friday through Sunday.
