Police identify motorcyclist killed in Camillus crash

CAMILLUS (WSYR-TV) - Police have released the identity of a motorcyclist who was killed in a crash after reportedly speeding away from them late Monday night.

Camillus Police say Antwan Hunter of Bellevue Avenue in Syracuse took off when an officer tried to pull him over while he drove north along Hinsdale Road.

According to police, Hunter was traveling north at a speed of about 48 miles per hour in a 30 miles per hour zone when they tried to pull him over.

Hunter’s motorcycle crashed near Edwards Drive.

Hunter was taken to Upstate University Hospital, where he died.

Hinsdale Road was closed for hours between Trent Avenue and Elm Hill Way.

Camillus Police have turned their investigation into the crash over to the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office.
