SYRACUSE (WSYR-TV) - Three people were shot early this morning on the Syracuse University Hill.
Just after 2:30 a.m., Syracuse Police responded to reports of multiple gunshots at the corner of Marshall Street and University Avenue.
A 25-year old is in critical condition at Upstate University Hospital after being shot in the abdomen area. He is expected to survive his injury, according to Syracuse police.
A 16 and 17 year old are also recovering from gunshot wounds to their legs.
Syracuse police say the suspects were possibly 3 black males, last seen leaving the area in a white Chevy Trailblazer. No additional description is available at this time.
A NewsChannel 9 photographer who was on the scene says there was a vehicle with a visible bullet hole in the driver's side window and the passenger side window's glass was shattered.
During the investigation. police blocked off Marshall Street between University Avenue and South Crouse Avenue.
Police believe this incident does not have any relation to SU or any students, other than the close proximity to campus.
SU’s Department of Public Safety also responded to the scene.
