Boy with life-threatening seizure disorder to meet April the Giraffe

HARPURSVILLE, N.Y. - A boy facing a life-threatening seizure disorder will have his dream of meeting April the Giraffe fulfilled on Tuesday.

A spokesperson for Make-A-Wish says Alex Johnson, 10, from Ohio, will be visiting Animal Adventure park in Harpursville.

Alex's wish is to meet April the Giraffe, and he will be treated to a special behind-the-scenes "meet and greet" with April and zoo staff.

Alex and his family love animals and watched the online feed of April for months, eagerly awaiting the birth of April's calf, Tajiri.

Alex, who suffers from a life-threatening seizure disorder, is having his dream fulfilled by Make-A-Wish, a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization dedicated to granting the special wishes of children between the ages of 2 ½ and 18 who have life-threatening medical conditions.
