FULTON (WSYR-TV) - Friends and family gathered in Fulton on Thursday night to remember Amber Neivel, the New Haven woman whose body was found in the Oswego River earlier this month.
The vigil began at the downtown gazebo and the group walked to the Oswego River for a candlelight ceremony.
Neivel's family says the vigil brought them a sense of closure.
"It was very healing, not only for myself and my father, but mainly for the children. It showed them that their mom was cared about," said Leaha Smith, Neivel's sister.
Neivel's death is still under investigation and Fulton Police say it is considered suspicious.
If you have any information or may have seen Neivel in the days surrounding her death on April 9th, police say to call them at 315-598-2008
