Car crash in Verona sends 1 to the hospital

VERONA (WSYR-TV) - State Police in Oneida responded to a two car personal injury accident at the intersection of State Route 31 and State Route 46 in the Town of Verona Friday afternoon.

Police say that at approximately 1:45 p.m. a 2015 Honda was traveling eastbound on State Route 31 and attempted to make a left turn on to State Route 46. The vehicle failed to yield the right of way to a 2004 Audi traveling westbound on State Route 31. The vehicles collided in the intersection and the impact forced the Honda into a sign post on the shoulder of the road.

The driver of the Audi, Donald Proulx, 64 of Marcy, was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Utica with head pain.

The driver of the Honda, 60-year-old, David Butters of Rome was issued a traffic ticket for failure to yield the right of way on a left turn.
