Driver of car caught between trees escapes with minor injuries

EAST SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV) - One person suffered minor injuries Saturday morning after driving off a road in East Syracuse.

Dewitt Police responded to Harwell Ave and Fly Rd around 9:30 Saturday morning to a car wedged between trees. 

According to police, the vehicle was traveling east on Harwell Ave and failed to make the turn onto Fly Rd.

The vehicle hit a road sign as it continued off the road into the trees, police say.

The driver of the vehicle had to be extricated by members of the East Syracuse Fire Department. 

Fly Rd. and Harwell Ave. were shut down for about one hour during the accident. They have since been re-opened, police say.
