Cayuga County town clerk accused of illegally boosting her retirement benefits

SPRINGPORT, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - The Springport Town Clerk is facing criminal charges after the Comptroller’s office says she tried to illegally boost her retirement benefits.

25-year town employee, Deborah Waldron, 62, is accused of using a town computer to change her benefits.

The Comptroller’s Offices says it re-calcuated her benefits to prevent Waldron from getting any money she was not entitled to.

She pleaded not guilty and is due back in Aurelius Town Court next month.
