Choir from Uganda gets stuck in Ithaca, serenades police during wait

ITHACA (WSYR-TV) - Families in one Ithaca neighborhood woke up to the sound of music on Saturday morning.

Several members of a mission choir from Uganda were just passing through the area when their large bus got stuck on Vinegar Hill.

Because of the size of the bus, a special tow truck had to be called in. So the boys passed the time by singing to police who showed up to help.

Officer Jamie Williamson shot video of the short serenade and posted it on Facebook.

He said neighbors were delighted when they came outside to find the choir performing.

The members spoke with police about their different cultures before resuming their trip to Albion, NY.

Williamson calls their time together an awesome experience as a police officer.
