CICERO (WSYR-TV) - Recent school threats prompted the Cicero Police Chief to offer active shooter training for neighbors.
So many people signed up, he had to schedule another class.
The goal is to show people a few things they can do to protect themselves if a shooter arrives at their office or school.
Registrations for the March 24 session were so high, the Town Hall won't hold anymore people. People who did not register in advance should not show up because there will not be enough seats.
Instead, Cicero police are hosting another Civilian Response to an Active Shooter course on April 14 from 2-4 p.m., the Cicero Town Hall on 8236 Brewerton Road.
Anyone interested in the training must register. Click here for a link to the police department's website to sign up.
People who can't register online can call 315-699-3677 ext. 57. Leave a name, phone number, and the number people attending the training on voicemail.
