ROME. N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - The Rome Police Department is looking for a suspected armed robber who took an undisclosed amount of cash from an Adirondack Bank.
According to police, the man, armed with a semi-automatic handgun, jumped over the teller counter and demanded cash.
He then fled the bank and left the scene in a grey or charcoal colored Nissan sedan.
The man is described as a white male, around 5’10” who is around 40 to 50 years old.
He was wearing blue jeans, a grey or dark blue colored windbreaker type jacket with a white and red colored stripe running down either sleeve.
Police say the suspect was also wearing a dark colored ball cap, a full face Halloween-type mask and carried a plastic shopping bag while committing the robbery.
The incident occurred on Wednesday around 2:30 p.m. at the Block River Road Boulevard location.
