Court upholds Gary Thibodeau conviction in Heidi Allen kidnapping case

NEW HAVEN, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - The State Appeals court has decided to uphold Gary Thibodeau’s conviction in the Heidi Allen kidnapping case.

Thibodeau claimed he deserved a new trial based on evidence that may have implicated other suspects.

The 63-year-old is serving 25 years to life in prison for the 1994 kidnapping.

Allen was kidnapped when she was 18 from a convenience store in the Town of New Haven where she worked.

She has not been heard from since, and her body has never been found.

Thibodeau's lawyer says they plan to appeal to the state's highest court.
