Update: Woman struck by car on Hopkins Road in critical condition

SALINA, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - A woman who was struck by a car on Hopkins Road in the town of Salina is in critical condition, according to the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office initially indicated that her injuries were considered life threatening.

Investigators say a woman was driving east on Hopkins Road when her Chevy Cobalt veered off the roadway and struck the pedestrian.

The road between Buckley Road and Iron Oak Circle was shut down for several hours after the crash, which occurred shortly before 8 a.m.

Investigators are still trying to determine what caused her to go off of the road.

The victim – who has not been identified – was taken to Upstate University Hospital.
