Deputies: Pharmacy workers fend off attempted robbery

Accused of pushing pharmacy employees

HOLLAND PATENT (WSYR-TV) - Deputies have arrested a Holland Patent man, accused of pushing pharmacy employees after they refused to give him medication without a prescription.

30-year old John Potter is charged with attempted robbery.

Investigators with the Oneida County Sheriff's Office were called to Holland Patent Pharmacy around 9:30 a.m. Saturday morning. Potter was still in the store when they arrived.

Workers told deputies that Potter became irate and began shoving them, trying to get medication that he'd been told they would not sell to him.

As they held him off, the employees say a customer came into the store and yelled at Potter until he backed down.

Potter was sent to the Oneida County Correctional Facility with bail set at $20,000 cash or $40,000 Bond.
