Ex-boyfriend set to plead guilty in Sodus teen's murder

SODUS, NY (WROC) - The ex-boyfriend charged in the murder of a teen girl in Sodus is expected to plead guilty on Friday, prosecutors say.

David Knight-Hollis was arrested last November following the stabbing death of 17-year-old Alyssa Taft.

Deputies say the investigation began after Taft's mother reported her missing. Less than an hour after that report, deputies said Knight-Hollis called 911 saying he had killed Taft.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they found Knight-Hollis walking out of a wooded area near his home. Taft's body was found not far from the scene.

According to investigators, Knight-Hollis had lured Taft to his home to attempt to rekindle their relationship. When she rejected him, deputies say Knight-Hollis grabbed a knife, stabbed her and then cut her throat to stop her from screaming.

Knight-Hollis will appear in court Friday morning.
