SYRACUSE (WSYR-TV) - Something sweet is happening all Across New York State -- it's Maple Weekend.
170 farms, museums, and sugar houses in New York are welcoming families to learn how syrup is made, including how they tap trees.
Visitors can also taste real maple syrup and some places offer a fresh pancake breakfast, hot off the griddle with syrup straight from the farm.
"First of all many people don't think new york is an agricultural state so we want to teach them about that but also new york is really in the heart of the maple region," said tapper Karl Wiles.
Maple Weekend continues tomorrow and next Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m to 4 p.m.
