FAYETTEVILLE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - Our local Red Cross was able to raise over $63,000 during a telethon for those who have been displaced by the storms and floods in Texas, and some kids in Fayetteville are doing their part to help out.
Girls aged 10 to 12 set up a lemonade stand to raise money for relief efforts.
They set up shop along East Genesee Street in Fayetteville on Tuesday morning, selling lemonade, iced tea and cookies.
“We usually do lemonade stands sometimes, but this time was different because it was for a cause and I just felt as though we needed to do something not just sit around and watch the news,” said Jordan Poles, who took part in the lemonade stand.
