Fired DA Investigator Peter Rauch's name called in Onondaga County Court

SYRACUSE (WSYR-TV) - Five months after he last appeared in court on charges of leaving the scene of a deadly hit-and-run, fired DA Investigator Peter Rauch's name was called in Onondaga County Court on Thursday.

Rauch didn't appear himself, which is typical for such hearings.

Instead, his attorney, Emil Rossi, appeared on his behalf along with Oswego County District Attorney Greg Oakes, who's serving as a special prosecutor in the case.

Rauch is accused of driving the car that hit and killed 18-year-old Seth Collier near the Pastime Athletic Club on Syracuse's North Side in March.

In court, Rossi and Oakes had a private conversation with the judge at the bench, before being dismissed with no public proceedings.

Outside of court, Oakes told NewsChannel 9 that the case hasn't yet been presented to a grand jury, but he's in touch with Collier Family about the delay and he says they're understanding about the process.
