Fireside Inn opens for first party in nearly three years

Baldwinsville, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) -
From the catering kitchen, to the bar, to the 275 person ballroom the Fireside Inn is finally ready to host a party.

“I’ve had people come in that used to work here and they booked a party. They came in and literally tears came out of their eyes when they saw the place, how nice it is now,” says Executive Chef Doug Clark.

Before Saturday, it took 2.5 years of hard work for Chef Clark and owners Stan Dombroski and Fran Fiorito.

“I sanded these stairs and I finished them. I’ve done things that I normally don’t do. I told them ‘I make soup,’” jokes Clark. He’s now free to make more than just soup. He plans to host a buffet once a week along with catered private events.

His first test at the Fireside Inn? A 160 person party.  “We said ooh! Let’s check that out! It just came together perfectly and we’re really happy to be here because it’s just beautiful,” says host of the first Fireside Inn party, Carol Barnett.

Despite the renovations, most people walking through the front door will immediately remember what it was like decades ago.

“We’ve talked to a lot of people who have said ‘oh I remember that place we used to go there all the time!’” shares Barnett. “So I think there’s going to be a lot of people coming in tonight, seeing things that look familiar but then also saying ‘wow this is really beautiful.’”

If you want to take a look, Doug says the Fireside Inn will be open to the public on June 17th. There will be light snacks served from 6-7 and Dan Elliott and the Monteray’s playing on stage from 7-10.
